Can you microwave eggs? An interesting question, and one that a lazy coom like myself has already explored. The simple answer is yes, you can microwave eggs. Below I will show you my favourite easy method for microwaving eggs using a mug.
Microwaving Eggs With A Mug
This is a really easy method for microwaving an egg and is what I do if I just want a couple of quick eggs for breakfast or toast.
To start with grab a mug out of the cupboard, the wider the bottom of the mug the better. This coffee mug works well for me.

Crack your egg and let it sit in the bottom of the mug. If you can manoeuvre the yolk into the middle then it can help with even cooking but it is not essential.

Now we can pop it in the microwave. A word of warning here, your egg can go from perfect to overdone in about 10 seconds, so keep an eye on it. I like to put it in for 30 seconds to start with, this shouldn’t be enough to fully cook it so gives you a chance to take it out and see how it is looking.

Above is what the egg looks like after 30 seconds in the microwave. You can see that it is nearly done but still a little raw in the centre of the egg.
Now you need to put the egg back into the microwave, obviously. How long you put it back in for depends on how you like your eggs. I love my eggs nice and runny, so I only put it on for another 15 seconds.
If you are some sort of monster that likes the yolk cooked to within an inch of its life then you will need to put it in for a while longer, maybe another 45 seconds.

Above is my egg after it has been in the microwave for a total of 45 seconds. For me, that is egg perfection, a nice cooked white with a lovely runny yolk, perfect.

I like to use a spoon and dig the egg out of the mug.

There it is, an egg cooked in the microwave. This works really well for keeping the egg nice and compact, which makes it perfect for use on sandwiches.
