Herringbone Flooring In A Kitchen?

If you are thinking of putting new flooring in your kitchen then herringbone flooring may have crossed your mind. Whether it is real wood, laminate or even tile, herringbone can look really classy. But does it work in a kitchen?

Well as it happens, I actually have just laid a solid ash herringbone floor in my own kitchen. So I have lots of photos to show you, which will hopefully help you make up your own mind.

Here you can see the floor in our kitchen. We absolutely love it and think it works really well in a kitchen.

The cabinets, even though we will be changing their colour soon, do contrast well with the wood.

Another shot of the floor showing a wider angle. There is just so much going on with the floor that it is always interesting to look at. Then the herringbone pattern on top just sets it off perfectly.

We continued the flooring through into the front room and covered the whole ground floor of the house in it. Complete with doggo!

Here is the living room with the same herringbone solid ash floor.
