How long does Hammerite take to dry?

Hammerite is a popular metal paint, we have done tonnes of experiments with it here at the Bloke Cave. But one thing we have not tackled yet is how long it takes to dry?

Well, let’s fix that. We will jump into the drying times for all of the different versions of Hammerite paint.

Regular Hammerite Paints

Hammerite Hammered

Durable, corrosion-resistant decorative coating for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The decorative hammered appearance is smooth to the touch and sheds water well.  It is available in a variety of popular colours.

Touch Dry – 2 Hours

Repaintable – 4 Hours

Hammerite Smooth

This is a smooth gloss finish that will retain its sheen for years. As always it is a durable, corrosion-resistant decorative coating for ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Touch Dry – 2 Hours

Repaintable – 4 Hours

Hammerite Satin

This is a subtle satin-smooth finish that provides a low sheen alternative to Hammerite Smooth Finish. As is to be expected from Hammerite, this is a durable, corrosion-resistant decorative coating for ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Touch Dry – 2 Hours

Repaintable – 4 Hours

Hammerite Ultima

Hammerite Ultima is the next evolution in metal paint. It is Water Based and specially formulated to be applied directly to rust and direct to any type of metal without a primer. It provides a highly durable decorative finish for up to 12 years. Suitable for application on gates, railings, garden furniture and all type of outdoor metal.

Touch Dry – 2 Hours

Repaintable – 4 Hours

Hammerite Spray Paints

Hammerite Hammered Aerosol

Hammerite Aerosol Metal Paint is specially formulated to perform as primer, undercoat and topcoat in one. It gives the metal a subtle hammered effect with a metallic sheen.

Touch Dry – 15 Mins

Repaintable – 15 Mins

Hammerite Smooth Aerosol

Looking for a glossy, smooth finish for a flawless high sheen? Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint Aerosol Smooth Finish is specially formulated to perform as primer, undercoat and topcoat in one.
