Everyone knows that DeWALT makes great power tools, but how good are the batteries. The main part of any battery is the cells used, so what cells do DeWALT use in their batteries? Let’s crack one open and have a look at exactly what is inside one of these yellow and black batteries.
So here we have a DeWALT pack opened up. You can see how simple these batteries are, a small circuit board and some wiring to the cells, that’s all there is to it really. The same can be said of all power tools batteries I have opened up so far.
But as yet we can’t see the cells to find out what they are so we will have to dig a little deeper into the battery to see what’s in there.
So there we have it, in this battery at least, DeWALT is using Samsung 25R cells. This is good news for anyone who is a DeWALT tool user as these are really high-quality cells.
Samsung is obviously a huge name, and they make some of the best 18650 battery cells on the market.
DeWALT will change battery suppliers over time and have not always used these cells, so just because they are in my battery does not necessarily mean they are in yours. This is from a new battery purchased in 2021.
Battery Specs
